The Indian startup ecosystem saw a significant boost in funding during the first week of August, with 22 companies collectively securing $274.4 million. This represents a 74% increase compared to the $142.3 million raised in the preceding week.
River Mobility led the week's funding rounds, raising $120 million in a Series C round within the clean tech sector. Other notable rounds included InRisk Labs, which secured $27 million in a Series A funding, and BlissClub, which raised $16.8 million.
Among technology sectors, Artificial Intelligence (AI) proved to be a lucrative area, with seven AI startups collectively raising $23.3 million. The clean tech sector also saw substantial activity, with four companies in this space garnering approximately $136 million.
Seed-stage funding experienced a 35% week-on-week decline, totaling $7.7 million, raised by five early-stage ventures. DeVC emerged as the most active investor, participating in three deals, while Singularity AMC and Stellaris Venture Partners each backed two startups.
