Infineon opens new semiconductor manufacturing hub in Thailand
Infineon Technologies AG has inaugurated a new backend manufacturing hub in Bangkok, Thailand. The facility strengthens the company's global production network and adds capacity for future growth.

Infineon Technologies AG has officially opened its new backend manufacturing site in Bangkok, Thailand, with the inauguration ceremony attended by Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Infineon's Chief Operations Officer Alexander Gorski.
The new facility strengthens and further diversifies the company's global manufacturing footprint, adding capacity to meet future demand. Strategically located in Southeast Asia, the site enhances Infineon's ability to serve customers worldwide amid growing long-term semiconductor demand driven by digitalization, electrification, and the energy transition.
Designed for scalability, the facility can accommodate up to five modules, positioning Bangkok as a potentially major backend manufacturing site for Infineon. This expansion complements the company's ongoing investments in frontend manufacturing capabilities.
"Bangkok's unique combination of location and growth potential makes it a significant addition to our global manufacturing footprint," said Alexander Gorski, Chief Operations Officer at Infineon. "We are establishing a new hub in the heart of Southeast Asia, surrounded by a rapidly growing ecosystem with excellent global logistics access." Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul highlighted the investment as a strong vote of confidence in Thailand's semiconductor industry and its role in global value chains.
The site currently employs approximately 350 people and is expected to grow to around 1,000 skilled jobs as the first module ramps up. Infineon is also supporting talent development through collaborations with local educational institutions. The facility utilizes advanced automation and digital manufacturing for efficient production, focusing on increasingly complex, high-value semiconductor solutions for the automotive, industrial, and energy sectors.
