Info Edge reinvests in B2B marketplace Bijnis following 2023 write-off

Info Edge has committed 50 million rupees to B2B platform Bijnis, marking a return to an investment it previously wrote off entirely due to financial instability.

26 October 2026

Indian internet conglomerate Info Edge is investing 50 million rupees (approximately $525,000) into B2B wholesale platform Bijnis. Through its subsidiary, Startup Investments (Holding) Ltd, Info Edge will acquire 23,683 Series B2 convertible preference shares, bringing its total equity stake in Bijnis to 20.12% on a fully diluted basis.

This investment marks a reversal for Info Edge, which in 2023 wrote off its entire 77 million rupee investment in Bijnis, citing high cash burn rates and concerns over the startup's ability to secure future funding. The new capital infusion indicates a shift in sentiment and a renewed appetite for risk within the company’s portfolio of growth-stage startups.

Bijnis operates a wholesale platform connecting footwear and apparel manufacturers with retailers, bolstered by a network of dark stores for rapid local delivery. The company reported a turnover of 113.89 million rupees for the fiscal year ended March 2026, a 14% decline from the previous year. Info Edge noted that it may pursue further equity in the business through secondary market acquisitions.
