Info Edge reports 87 percent profit increase and announces leadership transition
Info Edge recorded a net profit of Rs 649.8 crore for the second quarter of fiscal 2027 as founder Sanjiv Bikhchandani prepares to reclaim the CEO role.

Info Edge (India) reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 649.8 crore for the second quarter ending September 2026, an 87% increase compared to Rs 347.5 crore in the same period last year. Quarterly revenue reached Rs 903.9 crore, representing a 12% year-on-year growth driven largely by the recruitment sector.
Concurrent with the financial results, the company announced a leadership change. Current MD and Group CEO Hitesh Oberoi will step down, with founder Sanjiv Bikhchandani set to take over the role of executive vice chairman, managing director, and group CEO effective December 3, 2026. Oberoi cited personal interests in education and philanthropy as the reasons for his resignation.
The recruitment business, anchored by Naukri, continues to be the primary revenue driver, contributing Rs 632.3 crore. The company noted that AI and data products are now generating an annualized run rate of approximately Rs 240 crore. Conversely, the education segment, Shiksha, moved into a loss position of Rs 80 lakh, attributed by the company to declining search traffic linked to AI integration.
Operational costs remained relatively stable, with total expenditures rising only 4% to Rs 588.6 crore. In addition to earnings, the board approved the divestment of its stakes in Medcords Healthcare and Unnati Online, signaling a further narrowing of its investment portfolio.
