Info Edge to Acquire Remaining 45% Stake in Coding Ninjas for ₹40 Crore
Info Edge is acquiring the remaining 45.36% stake in upskilling platform Coding Ninjas for ₹39.9 crore in an all-cash deal. The transaction is expected to enhance synergies between Info Edge's job portal Naukri and the edtech platform.
Indian internet conglomerate Info Edge has announced plans to acquire the remaining 45.36% stake in its edtech subsidiary Coding Ninjas for ₹39.9 crore in an all-cash transaction. The deal, once completed, will make Coding Ninjas a wholly-owned subsidiary of Info Edge.
The acquisition was approved by Info Edge's board and is subject to customary closing conditions, with completion anticipated within 45 days. The company stated that the transaction aims to leverage business synergies, particularly by enabling Naukri, Info Edge's flagship job portal, to develop AI-focused courses for its user base.
Info Edge initially invested in Coding Ninjas in 2020 and has progressively increased its stake through subsequent transactions, including a significant infusion in 2022. Coding Ninjas, founded in 2016, offers courses in areas such as data science, software development, and artificial intelligence.
For the fiscal year ending March 2026, Coding Ninjas reported a net loss of ₹13.4 crore on a turnover of ₹97.4 crore. Info Edge anticipates that full ownership will unlock growth and profitability improvements for the upskilling platform. The founders of Coding Ninjas will continue employment with Info Edge.
