Infomaniak updates technical guidance for WordPress site migrations

Infomaniak has updated its technical documentation regarding the migration of WordPress websites. The process leverages the Duplicator plugin to assist users in transferring existing site data and databases to Infomaniak's hosting infrastructure.

The migration workflow requires users to perform several manual steps, including generating a backup archive, configuring FTP access, and setting up an empty MySQL database on the destination server. Once the archive is moved and the installer script is executed, the site is transferred to the new environment. Infomaniak notes that sites migrated using this method will not appear in its automated "WordPress & Apps" dashboard, as they were not initially provisioned through the company's native installation tools.

Providing clear migration paths is a standard practice for hosting providers aiming to facilitate customer onboarding. These instructions form part of Infomaniak's broader technical support library, designed to assist users of its web hosting and cloud services in managing their digital assets.
