Infortrend Expands Edge Computing Portfolio to Support Evolving AI and Edge Workloads

TAIPEI – Infortrend Technology, Inc. unveiled on July 14, 2026, an expanded portfolio of edge computing solutions. The updated offerings are structured to address the demands of AI and edge workloads, providing options for both single-node deployments and highly resilient cluster setups.

As businesses increasingly process data at its source, infrastructure capable of supporting edge AI inference, virtualization, and containerized applications is becoming critical. Infortrend's new range includes bare metal hardware for custom software stacks and fully integrated, turnkey solutions tailored for diverse operational environments.

The portfolio features Standalone Edge for remote sites with minimal IT staffing, HA Edge for mission-critical operations requiring maximum uptime through a redundant two-node system, and Advanced Edge, a scalable 3-to-5 node cluster solution for large-scale AI workloads with automatic failover. These solutions are built upon two new hardware lines: the compact KS 3000U with up to two GPUs, and the powerful KS 5000U supporting up to four GPUs and numerous CPU cores for intensive computing tasks.

Infortrend highlighted that edge data processing reduces latency and cloud dependency, but acknowledged the varying requirements for availability and scalability across different edge locations. The company aims to enable businesses to deploy the infrastructure best suited to their specific needs at the network's edge.
