Infortrend Expands Edge Computing Portfolio for AI Workloads
Infortrend Technology has updated its edge computing portfolio with new hardware and turnkey solutions designed to address evolving AI and edge workload demands.

TAIPEI – Infortrend Technology announced an expansion of its edge computing portfolio, introducing new hardware and turnkey solutions aimed at supporting changing AI and edge workloads. The company states that the updated range is designed to meet the needs of businesses increasingly processing data at its source.
The portfolio is structured into various solution categories, from single-node systems to high-availability cluster deployments, intended to cater to the diverse requirements of edge computing environments which vary significantly in scale, performance needs, and available IT resources.
Offerings include both bare-metal hardware for organizations managing their own software stacks and pre-configured, ready-to-deploy solutions. Turnkey options like Standalone Edge, HA Edge, and Advanced Edge come pre-loaded with operating systems and software for running traditional and containerized applications.
According to Infortrend, the Standalone Edge is a single-node solution suited for remote locations with limited IT staff. HA Edge provides a dual-node, high-availability setup for mission-critical sites, while the Advanced Edge is a scalable 3-to-5 node cluster for demanding AI workloads. These solutions are built on two new hardware series, the KS 3000U and KS 5000U, offering different performance levels and GPU support.
"Edge computing eliminates latency and reduces reliance on the cloud, but different locations have very different availability and scalability needs. We have expanded our portfolio to address precisely that," said Frank Lee, Senior Director of Product Planning at Infortrend Technology.
