Infortrend Expands Edge Computing Portfolio for AI Workloads

Taipei, Taiwan – Infortrend Technology, a provider of enterprise storage and AI solutions, has expanded its edge computing portfolio. The updated offerings are categorized to address the specific needs of edge AI workloads, ranging from single-node setups to highly resilient clustered deployments.

As organizations increasingly process data at its point of origin, the necessity for edge infrastructure capable of handling AI inference, virtualization, and containerized applications has grown. Recognizing that edge deployments vary significantly in scale, performance requirements, and available IT resources, Infortrend has structured its portfolio to offer both bare metal hardware and integrated turnkey solutions.

The expanded portfolio includes bare metal servers for organizations managing their own software stacks, alongside pre-configured, ready-to-deploy solutions. These turnkey options are categorized into Standalone Edge (single-node for remote sites), HA Edge (two-node for high availability), and Advanced Edge (a 3-to-5 node cluster for large-scale AI workloads). The underlying hardware series are the space-optimized KS 3000U and the high-performance KS 5000U.

"Processing data at the edge eliminates latency and reduces cloud dependency—but different sites have vastly different uptime and scale requirements. We expanded our portfolio to address this directly so that enterprises can deploy the right infrastructure for their exact operational footprint," said Frank Lee, Senior Director of Product Planning at Infortrend Technology.

This expansion aims to provide businesses with tailored infrastructure solutions that match their specific edge computing needs, supporting diverse operational environments and workloads.
