Infortrend Expands Edge Computing Portfolio for AI Workloads

Taipei – Infortrend Technology, a provider of enterprise storage and AI solutions, announced the expansion of its edge computing portfolio on July 14, 2026. The updated solution range is designed to meet the demands of AI edge workloads, from single-node deployments to high-resilience cluster setups.

As organizations increasingly process data at the point of creation, infrastructure capable of managing AI inference, virtualization, and containerized applications at the edge has become crucial. Infortrend's expanded portfolio offers a comprehensive range of edge computing options, including bare metal hardware for custom software stacks and fully integrated, turnkey solutions for rapid deployment.

The new offerings include "Standalone Edge" for single-node setups in remote locations, "HA Edge" for dual-node high availability in critical sites, and "Advanced Edge" for scalable, multi-node clusters requiring high-performance computing for large-scale AI workloads. These solutions are built upon Infortrend's KS 3000U and KS 5000U hardware series.

The KS 3000U series, optimized for space-constrained environments, features a single AMD EPYC™ 8004 processor with GPU support. The KS 5000U series offers more robust options with dual Intel® Xeon® or AMD EPYC™ 9004/9005 processors and enhanced GPU capacity to handle demanding computational tasks.

"Edge computing eliminates latency and reduces cloud dependency, but different sites have very different uptime and scalability requirements. We have expanded our portfolio to directly address this, so that businesses can implement the right infrastructure for their specific operating environment," said Frank Lee, Senior Director of Product Planning at Infortrend Technology.
