INMO AIR3 Smart Glasses Recalled Due to Overheating Concerns
US and Canadian authorities have urged users to stop using INMO AIR3 smart glasses due to potential overheating. The manufacturer attributes the issue to certain third-party applications.
Smart glasses manufacturer INMO Technology has responded to a recall notice issued by U.S. and Canadian consumer safety authorities regarding its INMO AIR3 smart glasses. The recall, dated September 24, cited concerns that the left temple arm of the glasses could overheat during prolonged use, prompting a call to cease usage.
In a statement released on September 30, INMO Technology explained that the overheating issue is linked to specific third-party applications that have not undergone official testing. The company stated these applications exhibit abnormal power consumption, leading to the device's overheating.
As a corrective measure, INMO has removed the identified applications and optimized the device's power management strategy. Users of the INMO AIR3 are advised to update their device's firmware to the latest version via official channels. The company emphasized that units sold in the domestic Chinese market are unaffected by this issue.
INMO has apologized for any inconvenience caused to users and partners, stating its commitment to user safety and experience. The company plans to enhance its content ecosystem's security mechanisms and application review processes to ensure user rights and safety.
