Innovapptive has introduced Frontline Execution Effectiveness (FEE), a new metric aimed at quantifying the ability of industrial facilities to respond to and resolve detected problems efficiently. The measure provides a single score from 0 to 100%, reflecting the speed and quality of issue resolution.

The launch is based on data from approximately 120 plants across 22 organizations and seven industries. The analysis indicated that problem resolution typically takes weeks rather than hours. The median maintenance backlog stood at 12.1 weeks, against a target of 2–4 weeks.

The FEE metric evaluates two components: latency, the time from problem detection to closure, and resolution, which verifies that the fix holds without repeat failure within 90 days. It is designed to complement the existing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metric, which focuses on machine performance.

According to the benchmark report, plants had a median OEE of 62.7% with reactive work comprising 52% of tasks. Data also showed that notifications could wait a median of 21 days and corrective actions took up to 100 days to complete. In one instance, an implemented solution reportedly reduced costs by 17% and significantly decreased the number of contractors.
