Insilico Medicine and China Medical System Holdings (CMS) have announced an expanded collaboration focused on artificial intelligence-driven drug discovery for central nervous system (CNS) diseases. The partnership leverages Insilico's AI platform alongside CMS's clinical and commercial expertise.
Biotechnology firm Insilico Medicine and pharmaceutical company China Medical System Holdings (CMS) have expanded their collaboration to target central nervous system (CNS) diseases. The new agreement centers on developing a drug candidate with an innovative mechanism of action (MoA) identified by Insilico's AI platform, aiming to accelerate treatments for patients.
The partnership combines Insilico's AI-powered drug discovery tools, including its PandaOmics platform, with CMS's extensive experience in clinical research, development, and commercialization. Under the terms of the agreement, Insilico Medicine is eligible to receive milestone payments and royalties, with potential payments reaching up to approximately 1.2 billion RMB (around $170 million USD).
Executives from both companies highlighted the collaborative synergy. CMS Chairman and CEO Lam Kong stated his company's deep impression with Insilico's AI capabilities and anticipated accelerated delivery of clinically meaningful innovations. Insilico's Co-CEO and Chief Scientific Officer Feng Ren expressed satisfaction with the productive and seamless collaboration, emphasizing the potential of the AI-identified MoA to enhance drug development efficiency.
This marks the second collaboration between Insilico Medicine and CMS within a short period, reinforcing Insilico's role in AI-driven drug discovery and CMS's strategy to broaden its portfolio of innovative therapies.
