Insta360 celebrated its 11th anniversary on Thursday by revealing its vision for an AI-powered "Cameraman" photography robot. The company described the "Cameraman" not as a single hardware product, but as an AI agent concept designed for autonomous filming. Early prototypes of this concept are expected to utilize panoramic drones.
Insta360 stated that it has already developed key technologies for the robot's core functions, referred to as its "brain," "eyes," "ears," "neck," and "torso." The Luna Ultra dual-camera gimbal was highlighted as an important intermediate step towards this future vision.
In an internal letter, founder Liu Jingkang outlined the company's ambition to go beyond commercial success and efficiency. He stated that Insta360 aims to tackle problems others are unwilling to solve, using innovation to explore creativity, aesthetics, and "romance."
