Insta360 X6 Launched with 8K 50fps Video and 120MP Photos

Insta360 has unveiled its new flagship 360-degree camera, the X6. The device advances image quality with 8K resolution at 50 frames per second (fps) for 360° video, 120-megapixel panoramic photos, and 10-bit color depth across its primary recording modes.

The X6 incorporates new 1/1.1-inch sensors, a 4nm process main processor, and dual imaging chips. This architecture enhances performance in low light, expands dynamic range, and improves image stitching and AI-powered processing.

Video capabilities include recording at 7680 × 3840 resolution with options for 50, 48, 30, 25, and 24 fps. The camera also supports 6K at 60 fps and 4K in 360° mode up to 100 fps. High resolution and frame rates are crucial for capturing action when reframing is done in post-production.

In photography, the 120-megapixel 360° capture allows for highly detailed images. The larger capture area retains more image information for post-production reframing. The X6 also offers 10-bit color support and an I-Log recording option, providing greater flexibility for color grading.

Insta360's PureVideo mode is included for improved low-light performance. The X6 can also function as a standard wide-angle action camera, recording in 5K at 60 fps or 4K at 120 fps.
