Instagram enables users to change music in older posts
Instagram has rolled out a new feature allowing users to swap out music on published feed posts and carousels after the fact. The functionality preserves the post's existing engagement metrics.

Instagram has introduced a new "Replace Audio" tool, enabling users to change the music on their feed posts and carousels after they have been published. This update eliminates the prior limitation that required users to delete and re-upload posts to alter their soundtracks.
The new functionality allows music to be updated at any time without affecting the post's existing likes, comments, shares, or overall reach. The Meta-owned social media platform states this is part of its ongoing efforts to provide creators with greater control over their content.
This feature addresses a previous constraint where creators and brands had to choose between retaining a post's engagement or updating its audio. Changing the music can help keep content aligned with current trends or reflect a user's evolving musical preferences.
The new feature can be accessed by navigating to the post in question, tapping the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and selecting the "Replace Audio" option. The update is now available to all Instagram users.
