Instagram Head: Users Can Opt Out of AI Content in Feeds

Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri, has indicated that the platform will not outright filter out AI-generated content. Instead, Mosseri suggested in a recent interview that users should have the ability to decide whether they see AI-generated content in their feeds.

Speaking on Lenny Rachitsky's podcast, Mosseri clarified his stance: "I don't think we should filter out AI content. I think we should let you know if content is AI content or not."

However, he differentiated between content-based sorting and a complete ban, proposing that users who enjoy AI content could potentially receive a feed composed solely of such material.

Instagram, alongside platforms like TikTok and YouTube, is actively navigating the increasing presence of AI in content creation and its subsequent impact on user experience.
