Insurance Leaders Discuss AI's Role in Property Claims and Underwriting

Eagleview hosted its inaugural Property Claims Leadership Forum in Half Moon Bay, bringing together insurance industry executives to discuss the future of property intelligence, claims, and underwriting in the age of AI. The company also unveiled new research exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming risk assessment, claims workflows, and decision-making across the insurance value chain.

The forum highlighted the growing need for technological solutions as carriers navigate a rapidly changing risk landscape, driven in part by an increase in costly weather disasters. Attendees expressed a strong appetite for greater AI experimentation and a growing capacity to invest in the technology as it matures.

Piers Dormeyer, CEO of Eagleview, stated that collaboration is key to sustained growth and navigating evolving risk profiles. "AI offers the possibility to move from reactive to proactive risk management. Industry leaders increasingly see AI as the way to improve their businesses and prepare for future challenges," Dormeyer said.

New research indicates that roughly two-thirds of insurers plan to increase AI investments in the next 12 to 24 months. However, only about ten percent of property and casualty carriers have moved AI beyond pilot stages into production, despite reports of stronger revenue growth from those further along.
