InsuranceDekho Cofounders Reportedly Considering Role Change, Company Denies
Sources suggest InsuranceDekho's cofounders, Ankit Agrawal and Ish Babbar, may transition to 'promoter' roles ahead of a potential IPO. The company denies any changes to their executive positions.
InsuranceDekho, an Indian insurance aggregator preparing for a potential IPO, is reportedly discussing a shift in roles for its cofounders, CEO Ankit Agrawal and CTO Ish Babbar. Sources indicate the founders might move to "promoter" roles, with professional management taking over executive responsibilities.
This potential change comes as InsuranceDekho recently merged its operations with the RenewBuy group. Agrawal is currently leading the combined entity as CEO, while Babbar heads the technology department.
However, InsuranceDekho has refuted these claims. A company spokesperson stated, "The cofounders remain actively involved with InsuranceDekho and continue to lead the company’s strategy and growth alongside the broader leadership team. There has been no change in their roles or their commitment to the company."
The company aims to go public by March 2027, with an estimated valuation of approximately ₹9,500 crore. InsuranceDekho offers a range of insurance products, including motor, health, and life insurance, and operates as a significant player in India's insurtech sector following its merger with RenewBuy.
