Intec presents ARGUS® F240 fiber tester at ANGA COM
Intec introduced its new ARGUS® F240 fiber tester at the ANGA COM trade fair in Cologne. The device tests GPON and XGS-PON networks.

German telecommunications measurement technology firm Intec presented its new ARGUS® F240 fiber optic tester at this year's ANGA COM trade fair in Cologne, a leading European platform for broadband and content providers.
The ARGUS® F240 is designed for testing GPON and XGS-PON networks, primarily utilizing touchscreen operation. Its selective five-way power meter can be integrated into an existing PON connection in a "through mode" configuration. This allows for precise measurement of optical levels on various downstream (OLT) and upstream (ONT) wavelengths for GPON, XGS-PON, and video overlay signals simultaneously through five distinct filters.
The device can also detect other transmitters present on the line (alien ONTs). Furthermore, the ARGUS® F240 is capable of performing a full ONT simulation, including IP and performance tests at speeds up to 2.5 Gbit/s on both GPON and XGS-PON connections.
Additional testing capabilities include a WLAN analyzer, triple play tests (VoIP, IPTV, data), and high-performance IP speed tests directly via the fiber connection or Ethernet. The tester also supports the deployment of Active Ethernet (AON) through its SFP slot, commonly used in FTTH installations. A fiber inspection tool can be connected via USB for detecting and displaying fiber optic scratches and defects.
