Interior Design Trends 2027: Warm Colors and Soft Forms Gain Prominence

Real estate portal immowelt forecasts that the 2027 interior design trends will shift towards more personal and sensual spaces that emphasize comfort and coziness.

The report, based on observations from international trade fairs such as Heimtextil in Frankfurt and the Salone del Mobile in Milan, states that perfectly coordinated, showroom-like interiors are losing their appeal. Instead, the focus is moving towards spaces that feel inviting and reflect the residents' individuality.

Key trends include warm, earthy color palettes such as beige, sand, taupe, and chocolate brown, alongside terracotta and muted olive green. These are complemented by soft, rounded forms in sofas and armchairs. Textures are also gaining significance, with materials like bouclé, chenille, and coarse weaves adding tactile depth.

With an increasing emphasis on personality and durability, glossy surfaces such as lacquered furniture, colored glass, and metal accents are making a comeback, offering a contrast to natural materials. For wooden furniture, warmer tones and visible grain patterns are preferred. Lighting is increasingly viewed as a design object, with multiple light sources creating a flexible atmosphere.

Immowelt highlights that complete redecorating is not always necessary. Individual elements, such as a boldly colored armchair or a sculptural light fixture, can update a home's appearance to align with the emerging trends.
