International delegations sign urban development consensus in Ningbo

Representatives from 15 countries finalized the Ningbo Consensus on Collaborative Development during the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue to promote economic integration.

4 November 2026

Representatives from 15 countries finalized the Ningbo Consensus on Collaborative Development at the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue in Ningbo, China, on November 3. The event, held from November 2 to 5, brought together over 260 officials, including mayors and international organization representatives, to discuss urban connectivity.

The consensus identifies three pillars for future cooperation: the expansion of industrial partnerships, the preservation of open trade systems, and the fostering of cultural and educational exchanges. Signatories pledged to utilize comparative advantages to optimize resource sharing and facilitate the stable flow of production factors across borders.

Beyond economic policy, the participants agreed to establish new mechanisms for city-to-city dialogue to address regional differences through communication. This initiative aims to bolster sustainable urban development and resolve trade friction through cooperation rather than isolation.

The event was co-hosted by the Ningbo Municipal Government, the Information Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, and Xinhua News Agency.
