More than 170 representatives from health ministries, international organizations, and the healthcare sector met in Boao, China, from October 23–26, 2026. The forum focused on integrating digital technologies into maternal and child healthcare services.

The event facilitated discussions on expanding South-South cooperation, particularly strengthening exchanges between China, ASEAN nations, and African countries. Participants explored how to better align national health strategies with the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Xu Zongyu, director of the National Center for Women and Children's Health, announced that China will launch joint training programs and cooperative projects with partners in the ASEAN and African regions. Experts highlighted that China's domestic practices in specialized fields, such as neonatal care, serve as potential models for international development.
