International Paper Evaluates Sale of EMEA Packaging Business
International Paper confirms it is evaluating unsolicited inquiries regarding a potential sale of its EMEA Packaging Business, proceeding in parallel with a planned spin-off.

International Paper Company (NYSE: IP) confirmed it is evaluating unsolicited inquiries concerning a potential sale of its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Packaging Business. The company is currently in discussions with potential bidders.
This process is in its early stages, and there can be no certainty that any sale will be agreed upon or completed. International Paper is also progressing with its previously announced plan to separate the EMEA Packaging Business through a listing on the London Stock Exchange, which would include a Level II ADR program on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company initially announced its intention to separate the EMEA Packaging Business via a spin-off on January 29, 2026. On October 14, 2026, it confirmed that the separation was expected to occur through a London listing with a corresponding NYSE ADR program.
International Paper is scheduled to host a "DS Smith – Capital Markets Day" on November 3, 2026, related to the planned spin-off. The company has not provided further details on the timing or structure of the potential sale process as it proceeds concurrently with the spin-off evaluation.
