Intuitive, a developer of robotic surgical systems, unveiled its new da Vinci energy portfolio, featuring the E-200 generator and a range of advanced instruments. This new line of products is designed to improve the efficiency and precision of robotic-assisted surgeries.
The da Vinci E-200 generator is engineered for seamless integration with Intuitive's da Vinci surgical systems. It delivers high-frequency energy for cutting and coagulation, reportedly enabling rapid vessel sealing at low temperatures. The portfolio includes instruments such as Vessel Sealer Extend, Vessel Sealer Curved, and SynchroSeal, which are intended to enhance the speed of vessel sealing and provide precision in confined surgical spaces.
According to Intuitive, the new energy products are developed to maximize surgical performance while maintaining optimal outcomes. The instruments reportedly facilitate quick and effective sealing, minimize tissue thermal spread, and offer control in critical anatomical areas. The Vessel Sealer Curved is specifically noted for its utility in small or tight spaces, while the Vessel Sealer Extend is designed for sealing vessels up to 7 mm.
Furthermore, the SynchroSeal instrument claims to expedite the sealing process, achieving an average seal time of under two seconds with a single pedal press. All new additions are integrated to work within existing da Vinci robotic surgery workflows, potentially allowing for the completion of entire robotic procedures from incision to closure using a single generator.
