Intuitive introduces SureForm stapling technology for surgical systems
Intuitive has integrated its SureForm stapling technology into its da Vinci surgical systems to improve tissue transection and anastomosis. The technology monitors tissue compression, making automatic adjustments.

Intuitive has introduced its SureForm stapling technology as part of its da Vinci surgical systems, marking a development in robotic-assisted surgery.
At the core of SureForm is SmartFire technology, which monitors tissue compression before and during firing. Performing over 1,000 measurements per second, SmartFire makes automatic adjustments to optimize the staple line and prevent tissue damage across varying tissue thicknesses.
The device features a 120-degree cone of articulation, providing surgeons with the ability to approach tissue in its natural position. This may reduce the need to pull tissue towards the stapler, potentially decreasing uncertainty and improving stapling performance.
SureForm staplers are available in 45 mm and 60 mm staple line lengths. Reloads include six rows of staples and a new knife with each reload, aiming to ensure consistent performance.
