Intuitive launches da Vinci X surgical system
Intuitive has introduced the da Vinci X surgical system, a more cost-effective entry point into the company's fourth-generation robotic-assisted surgical technology.

Intuitive has launched the da Vinci X surgical system, expanding its portfolio of robotic-assisted surgical offerings with a more accessible price point. This new system is designed to bring the benefits of robotic-assisted surgery to a broader range of healthcare providers.
The da Vinci X aims to lower the initial expenditure for adopting robotic-assisted surgery while providing a pathway for future upgrades. The system incorporates much of the same advanced technology found in the company's premium da Vinci Xi system, facilitating standardization and easier technology evolution as needs develop.
Key design features include a laser guidance system for patient cart setup and instrument arms designed for more linear port placement. The system's smaller, thinner arms are intended to offer enhanced reach and reduce the potential for instrument collisions compared to previous generations.
By investing in the da Vinci X, hospitals can gain access to improved reach and precision, building on the foundation of Intuitive's established robotic surgery platforms. The system also supports advanced features such as Firefly fluorescence imaging, which aids in real-time visualization of tissue perfusion and vasculature.
Intuitive states the da Vinci X builds upon years of surgeon and staff experience, optimized to bring robotic-assisted surgery capabilities to more operating rooms. It is part of the company's fourth-generation da Vinci OS4 operating system, offering flexible configurations and an upgrade path.
