Intuitive Releases 2023 ESG Report Detailing Progress

Intuitive, a medical technology company, has released its 2023 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, detailing its efforts in patient care improvement, environmental stewardship, and corporate governance. The report highlights the company's commitment to enhancing patient outcomes and operational responsibility.

CEO Gary Guthart stated in the report that 2023 focused on refining the company's ESG infrastructure and establishing baselines for future progress measurement. Intuitive emphasizes its dedication to developing products and services that improve patient care and experiences, adopting the "Quintuple Aim" framework which includes equitable access to care.

The report indicates that Intuitive's da Vinci systems have been used in over 14.2 million procedures globally. The company operates more than 8,600 da Vinci systems across 71 countries and has deployed over 530 Ion systems. Furthermore, Intuitive has trained more than 76,000 surgeons on its platforms. The report also acknowledges several awards and recognitions, including "Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion" and listings among top-managed and responsible companies.

Intuitive details its progress across three core areas: maturing clinical evidence for meaningful outcomes, understanding and reducing carbon impact, and driving responsible growth. The company is working to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to lowering carbon usage in healthcare delivery, aiming for responsible growth that respects its communities and manages resources effectively.
