Ipsen Expands Oncology Partnership with License Deal and New Discovery Programs

PARIS, FRANCE – Ipsen, Université de Montréal, and IRICoR have announced an expansion of their existing oncology research partnership. Ipsen has exercised its option to acquire exclusive global development and commercialization rights for a pre-clinical stage oncology asset. This license agreement stems from a collaboration established in May 2020.

Under the terms, Université de Montréal will receive an upfront payment and is eligible for additional development and commercial milestone payments, as well as royalties on net sales. Ipsen will now lead all development activities and worldwide commercialization of the drug candidate.

Furthermore, the parties have entered into a new multi-year collaboration and option agreement for two discovery-stage oncology programs. Researchers at the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) at Université de Montréal will be responsible for identifying, synthesizing, and advancing therapeutic compounds up to the drug candidate stage.

Ipsen intends to advance the licensed treatment to explore its potential across a range of solid tumors and hematological cancers. This expanded agreement builds upon the established partnership between the organizations.
