Ipsos Completes Acquisition of GfK Divisions for €105 Million

Ipsos, a global market research and analytics company, announced on October 10, 2018, the successful completion of its acquisition of four GfK Custom Research Business divisions. These divisions focus on Customer Experience, Experience Innovation, Health, and Public Affairs. The enterprise value for the acquisition was €105 million.

The deal, initially announced on July 30, 2018, was subject to various regulatory approvals, including anti-trust clearances which were secured by September 17, 2018. This acquisition brings approximately 1,000 GfK employees into the Ipsos organization.

Didier Truchot, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Ipsos, stated his satisfaction with the completion of the transaction. He noted that the addition of these GfK professionals, alongside Ipsos' existing 16,500 employees, will further the company's goal of deeper understanding of society, markets, and people. This move aligns with Ipsos' 'Total Understanding Project' growth strategy.

The financial results of the acquired GfK divisions will be incorporated into Ipsos' consolidated financial statements starting from October 1, 2018. The acquisition is expected to enhance Ipsos' capabilities and market position in key research areas.
