Ipsos Releases Data and Insights on Health and Wellness Trends

Global research firm Ipsos has released an analysis detailing consumer perceptions and expectations regarding healthcare and well-being. The report indicates that across 30 countries, only 28% of adults anticipate an improvement in healthcare quality in the coming years, though 43% rate their current access to care as good.

In the United States, the data shows that 69% of Americans believe the federal government should increase spending to lower healthcare costs. Furthermore, 20% of Americans identify obesity as the primary threat to public health.

Regarding consumer behavior, Ipsos' Consumer Tracker reveals a growing demand for foods and beverages with increased protein (43%) and reduced sugar or sugar alternatives (37%) compared to the previous year. Higher fiber content (31%) and sustainably sourced ingredients (29%) are also noted as increasingly sought-after attributes.

The research also highlights concerns about the mental health of young people, impacted by the pandemic and social media. While individuals prioritize improving their personal and political health, there is a divergence on the solutions.
