Ipsos Survey: Indonesian Consumer Confidence Fell in March 2026

Consumer confidence in Indonesia decreased in March 2026, as reported by Ipsos in an April survey. The national index fell to 59.2 from 62.4 in February and 62.6 in January.

The decline reflects increased caution among Indonesian consumers facing global economic uncertainties. Globally, consumer confidence also saw its first drop in nearly a year, standing at 49.4.

Despite the decrease, Indonesia's index remains above the 50-point optimism threshold. This suggests consumers maintain a generally positive outlook but are growing more apprehensive about future economic conditions.

All four components of the index—Current Situation, Expectations, Investment, and Jobs—experienced declines. Expectations saw the most significant drop at -5.1 points, indicating growing concern about future economic and employment prospects.

Ipsos Indonesia Managing Director Hansal Savla noted the index is at a "critical juncture," but the sustained above-50 score demonstrates resilience and confidence in the nation's economic fundamentals.
