iQIYI Launches AI-Integrated Film Studio in Shanghai
Entertainment platform iQIYI has opened a specialized studio in Shanghai that integrates live-action performance with AI-driven post-production.

iQIYI has commenced production on its first project, Cop in Trouble, at a new 110-square-meter facility in Shanghai designed to combine live filming with AI-powered creative tools. The studio synchronizes on-set footage directly into the company’s proprietary NadouPro platform, which hosts roughly 30 AI models for real-time adjustments to visual environments.
By utilizing this technology, filmmakers can modify sets, lighting, costumes, and visual effects after the actors have completed their performances. The process aims to provide greater creative flexibility while retaining the integrity of live-action acting. The system captures multi-camera footage alongside audio, which is then processed to generate new visual elements through AI agents.
This move follows iQIYI’s previous investments in virtual production, including facilities in Hengdian. The company reports that moving toward AI-integrated production environments is intended to improve efficiency and lower barriers for smaller teams to achieve high-production-value visual storytelling.
