iQIYI Reports Over 12% Increase in Daily Viewing Time During National Day Holiday

Chinese online entertainment platform iQIYI announced a significant increase in audience engagement during the National Day holiday period from October 1 to 7. Average daily viewing time across its ecosystem grew by more than 12% compared to the pre-holiday period, attributed to a strong content slate and the rise of multi-terminal viewing.

TV screens remained the dominant viewing platform, accounting for nearly 60% of average daily viewing time. Viewing within vehicles also saw a notable year-over-year increase of nearly 60%, highlighting the growing importance of premium content as a companion during travel.

Premium content was central to the platform's performance. The drama "The Old Story of Yu Hong" emerged as a top performer, while Stephen Chow's film "Kung Fu Soccer" immediately topped the charts upon its release. The AI-generated film "The Ferry Man: The Dream of the Princess" also generated substantial revenue, surpassing US$1.5 million in revenue sharing.

Beyond traditional viewing, interactive content and short-form media saw increased engagement. Interaction time within iQIYI's virtual community, Taodou World, rose by over 40%. Micro animation content experienced a 57% surge in average daily viewing time, and children's content maintained strong popularity with new releases.
