iQOO 16 Launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Priced from 5999 Yuan
Smartphone manufacturer iQOO has released its new iQOO 16 model. The device is among the first to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 2K Samsung E6 display.
The new iQOO 16 smartphone was unveiled on Friday evening, marking its debut as one of the first devices equipped with a special version of the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 chipset. The phone's retail price starts at 5999 yuan (approximately $820 USD). The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung E6 display with a refresh rate up to 165Hz. The manufacturer states the screen supports high refresh rates for over 50 games and utilizes Samsung's new M16 luminous material. The display boasts a global peak brightness of 2800 nits and a local peak brightness of 10000 nits. In terms of performance, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, manufactured on a 2nm process. iQOO has integrated an advanced cooling system, including a large 8500mm² VC vapor chamber and a triple-layer graphite cooling solution. The device also incorporates a new "Monster" core engine, which is reported to significantly reduce latency. Key features are geared towards gaming enthusiasts. The iQOO 16 supports concurrent 2K resolution and 165Hz refresh rates in six popular mobile games. It includes advanced touch sampling technology with instantaneous rates up to 5000Hz and a new Q-flex control technology designed to reduce swipe latency by 28%. The camera system comprises an upgraded 1/1.3-inch main sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.
