iQOO 16 Smartphone Sees Lower Initial Sales Compared to Predecessors
The initial sales performance of the iQOO 16 smartphone has reportedly fallen short of previous models. Data suggests sales were approximately 50% of the iQOO 15 and equal to the iQOO 13 during the same sales period.
The new iQOO 16 smartphone has experienced a weaker-than-expected sales debut, according to reports from Chinese tech outlet IT Home. The data, sourced from industry observers, compares initial sales over the first three days following the device's launch.
Reports indicate that the iQOO 16 sold approximately 50% of the units sold by its predecessor, the iQOO 15, in the equivalent period. However, its initial sales performance matched that of the iQOO 13, achieving 100% of its sales figures.
The iQOO 16, released on September 29, features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 2K Samsung E7 display. It launched with a starting retail price of 5999 yuan, with various configurations available at reduced prices starting from 5499 yuan due to government subsidies.
This disparity in initial sales compared to the iQOO 15 suggests a potential shift in consumer reception or increased market competition. The company has not provided an official statement detailing the reasons behind these sales figures.
