Chinese technology company iQOO has officially announced the launch of its iQOO 16 smartphone, scheduled for September 29 at 7:00 PM. The device will be available for purchase immediately after the announcement. iQOO is positioning the iQOO 16 as a performance flagship, stating that its standard version will deliver product capabilities comparable to top-tier "Pro Max" models.
A key focus for the new device is its display technology, developed in a significant collaboration with Samsung Display. This partnership, described as the most high-specification collaboration to date between the two companies, will see the iQOO 16 feature advanced screen specifications. These include a 2K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, Samsung's M16 light-emitting material, and a peak local brightness of 10,000 nits.
Further display enhancements highlighted include a multi-finger touch sampling rate of up to 500Hz, a high-frequency 3300Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain, and a "gaming glare protection" feature. The iQOO 16 is also noted as the first Android smartphone to feature a 2K 165Hz display utilizing the M16 material, produced on a dedicated flagship line developed with Samsung Display.
Full specifications and pricing details for the iQOO 16 are expected to be revealed at the launch event. iQOO has historically focused on high-performance mobile devices, particularly for gaming, and the iQOO 16 is anticipated to continue this trend with its advanced technological features.
