iQOO announces new gaming technology and iQOO 16 phone features
Smartphone maker iQOO has unveiled its "3+2 gaming technology roadmap" and detailed features for the iQOO 16 phone, including full ray tracing and 2K resolution.
Smartphone manufacturer iQOO has introduced its "3+2 gaming technology roadmap," which the company claims can replicate PC gaming technologies on mobile devices. Details about the upcoming iQOO 16 phone were also revealed.
The new roadmap consists of three core technology tracks: graphics, enhanced by the company's proprietary Q4 gaming chip; control, featuring Q-flex control technology; and tuning, powered by the new generation Monster Super Core Engine. Additionally, two expanded gaming scenarios are included: cross-device play, featuring a PC game simulator, and live streaming, supported by a gaming live broadcast assistant.
The iQOO 16 is set to support full ray tracing, 2K resolution, and 165 FPS (frames per second) concurrently. The company states its self-developed Q4 gaming chip has been upgraded with rendering, ray tracing, and AI cores, resulting in a 15% performance boost and reduced latency.
Further capabilities mentioned include 8K gaming video capture for mobile, allowing recording of game characters and environments in 8K resolution. The Q-flex control technology aims to minimize touch latency, with a reported mean squared error of 0.72 ms for FPS games. The Monster Super Core Engine incorporates a custom scheduler designed to enhance efficiency.
