iQOO Neo12 to feature new 2K 185Hz display with pTSF technology

The iQOO Neo12 smartphone is set to launch this month, featuring a new 2K 185Hz "Super Crown Screen" utilizing pTSF technology for enhanced visuals and power efficiency.

10 October 2026

iQOO announced today that its upcoming iQOO Neo12 smartphone will be the first device to feature a new 2K 185Hz "Super Crown Screen" powered by pTSF technology. This advanced display aims to deliver both high resolution and high refresh rates, promising improved clarity and reduced power consumption.

The device is also expected to be equipped with the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and the company's proprietary Q3 gaming chip, which supports features like ray tracing and frame rate boosting. For cooling, it will include an "Ice Dome" vapor chamber system with fan support. Powering the phone is a substantial 9000mAh battery, utilizing a single-cell design and fifth-generation silicon-anode technology for an energy density of 916Wh/L.

Industry sources indicate that the display technology is exclusive to iQOO and was developed by Visionox using their fourth-generation pTSF technology. This screen is anticipated to significantly enhance the Neo12's competitive edge, potentially positioning it close to the "Ultra" tier devices and creating a dual-flagship strategy alongside the Neo16.

pTSF, or "phosphor-assisted thermally activated delayed fluorescence," is an OLED emissive technology jointly developed by Visionox and Tsinghua University. It is reported to reduce power consumption by over 12% and extend display lifespan by 15%. The technology also promises a wider color gamut for professional-grade color accuracy.
