ISC3 Joins Sustainable Chemistry Challenge with New Prize

The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) has partnered with the Elsevier Foundation to enhance the Green & Sustainable Chemistry Challenge (GSCC). This collaboration aims to bolster capacity building and community development in green and sustainable chemistry, particularly in developing and emerging countries.

ISC3 will contribute its expertise and network to the challenge. A new third prize of €25,000, focused on "Entrepreneurial spirit in Sustainable Chemistry," has been established. This prize complements the existing first and second prizes of €50,000 and €25,000, awarded to projects addressing sustainable chemistry challenges in the developing world concerning energy, water, waste reduction, agriculture, and medicine.

The initiative is designed to promote sustainable chemistry solutions that align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The top five finalists and the winner of the new prize will present their projects to a distinguished panel of judges at the annual Green and Sustainable Chemistry Conference in Dresden, Germany, from May 5-8.
