ISC3 Names Ten Sustainable Chemistry Start-ups from India

The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3), in collaboration with SciTech Park Pune, has announced the ten finalists selected from its call for impactful sustainable chemistry start-ups and innovators in India. These companies are recognized for their commitment to developing environmentally conscious products, processes, and business models that align with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The initiative sought start-ups that adhere to the principles of green and sustainable chemistry, aiming to provide desired chemical functions and services with minimal harm to human health and the environment. The selection criteria were based on UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) objectives for green and sustainable chemistry.

Among the finalists are Alver World, which has developed a microalgae cultivation technology for nutrient-rich algae. Ashaya focuses on recycling multi-layered plastic waste and redistributing value to waste pickers. Coco Custo produces biodegradable cleaning products, and E[co]work offers solutions for the recycling of electronic waste. Help Us Green converts floral waste into incense and colors, and MiniMines Cleantech Solution presents a process for battery recycling.

Other finalists include Proklean Technologies, utilizing probiotic-based technology for low-impact biochemicals. REVY Environmental Solution is developing optimized wastewater treatment technologies and offers fertilizer and biogas solutions. SCHUTZEN aims to replace unsustainable chemical formulations in the textile sector. These ten finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations in upcoming webinars as part of 'the Sustainable Chemistry Club' and at the ISC3 Investor Forum 2022.
