ISHO Founder Wang Teng Shares Thoughts on Return to Tech Industry
Former Xiaomi executive Wang Teng has launched ISHO AI Health Science, marking his return to the tech sector. He speaks publicly for the first time about his departure from Xiaomi.
ISHO AI Health Science, a new venture founded by former Xiaomi executive Wang Teng, has officially launched, coinciding with Wang Teng's reflections on his departure from Xiaomi a year ago.
In a media interview, Wang Teng described the period following his exit from Xiaomi as a "low point" and "the first time in my life I was trending for a week," admitting to initial frustration. However, he stated he adjusted relatively quickly, reconciling with himself within a few weeks before seeking new directions.
Reflecting on his nine years at Xiaomi, Wang Teng expressed gratitude, "I am still very thankful to Xiaomi, especially to Lei Jun, and I truly learned a lot." He highlighted gaining a comprehensive view of a complete product line from a business operator's perspective within a leading tech company, managing businesses valued at nearly 100 billion yuan. He also spoke about putting Xiaomi's methodologies, particularly those emphasized by Lei Jun, into practice, including creating hit products, fostering user engagement, and building online and offline retail channels.
Wang Teng was previously the General Manager of Xiaomi's China market department and concurrently the General Manager of the REDMI brand. He was dismissed from Xiaomi in the latter half of 2021 due to a leak. At the time, Wang Teng posted on Weibo, expressing shame and apologizing for past mistakes, stating he accepted the consequences.
