The badge was worn by actor Anson Mount, who portrays Captain Christopher Pike in the series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
The video, released by Paramount and ESA on social media, was filmed on the ISS. Adenot used the occasion to connect the fictional voyages of the Starship Enterprise with real-world scientific endeavors.
"For 60 years, Star Trek has brought us stories of friendship and exploration. I'm wearing Captain Pike's badge aboard the ISS in celebration of continuing the real world work of science and exploration," Adenot stated.
