Chinese technology outlet IT Home has announced the addition of a 'Saturn Storm' color option for its Thunder (雷神) K96 triple-mode mechanical keyboard. The new variant is priced at 249 yuan (approximately $34 USD).
The keyboard features a 98% layout, retaining the full right-side number pad while incorporating multimedia macro keys and a metal roller for volume and backlight control. Its construction includes an anodized aluminum alloy top case and an ABS bottom case, offering 17 distinct white lighting effects.
Mechanically, the K96 keyboard utilizes double-shot PBT keycaps and low-profile Kailh red switches. These switches have an actuation force of 42±3gf and a bottom-out force of 52±3gf, with a total travel distance of 3.1±0.2mm and a lifespan of approximately 50 million keystrokes. Larger keys are supported by Kailh's satellite switches, and the keyboard offers full N-key rollover.
Equipped with a 1900mAh lithium battery, the keyboard supports charging while in use. Its dimensions are 360x149x22mm. IT Home has not yet specified international availability for the 'Saturn Storm' color, though it is currently available for purchase in China.
