IT Home: Dongchedi Initiates Legal Action Over Social Media Allegations
Dongchedi, an automotive information platform, announced it is pursuing legal measures against a social media user for alleged exaggeration of employee status and dissemination of false information.
Chinese tech outlet IT Home reported on October 13 that Dongchedi, a prominent automotive information platform, has initiated legal proceedings in response to what it describes as fabricated claims and misrepresented employee identities circulating on social media.
The company's official statement confirmed that it has begun the process of gathering legal evidence to protect its legitimate interests. This follows an earlier statement on October 10 where Dongchedi refuted claims made by individuals purporting to be former employees, labeling any malicious speculation as untrue.
The situation escalated when a social media user, identified as @North America Peanuts Are Me, posted images allegedly showing an employment offer, company email, and ID badge for ByteDance. This user had previously made claims that Dongchedi contested, asserting they were a former employee.
Dongchedi stated that the disputed content, including exaggerated employee statuses and false information, appeared on both domestic and international platforms. The company is now undertaking legal steps to address the alleged defamation and protect its reputation.
