IT Home: FeiNiu fnOS Starts First Native HarmonyOS App Test Recruitment
IT Home reports that FeiNiu fnOS, a Chinese NAS system, has begun recruiting for the first internal testing phase of its native HarmonyOS application. The app aims to improve performance and user experience.

IT Home reported on July 10 that FeiNiu fnOS, a Chinese Network Attached Storage (NAS) system, has initiated the first internal testing phase for its application developed natively for HarmonyOS. The recruitment for the initial batch of testers is now open.
The internal test is aimed at current HarmonyOS users of FeiNiu NAS (fnOS) with devices running HarmonyOS 5 or a compatible version. Participants are expected to actively provide feedback and report issues encountered while using the test version.
FeiNiu stated that the first testers will get early access to new features and will communicate directly with the product and development teams. They will also receive priority in subsequent internal testing phases. Outstanding feedback providers may also be rewarded with official FeiNiu merchandise or other benefits. The application period lasts for one week, with the selection results expected to be announced next week.
Previously, FeiNiu fnOS relied on compatibility layers to run Android applications on HarmonyOS devices, which users reported led to issues like inconvenient file transfers and overheating. The development of a native HarmonyOS app is expected to resolve these compatibility problems, offering native support for core functions such as file synchronization, multi-device management, and high-definition media playback.
The FeiNiu team had previously faced challenges in recruiting HarmonyOS developers, which slowed down the development process. The launch of this internal testing phase signifies a transition from the planning stage to substantive user testing.
