IT Home: Huawei unveils modular 'building block' cases for Mate 90 series phones
IT Home reports that Huawei has launched a new modular 'building block' case system for its Mate 90 series smartphones. The system allows users to customize and expand their phone's protection with interchangeable components.
Chinese tech news outlet IT Home reports on Huawei's introduction of a new modular protective case system designed for its Mate 90 series of smartphones. Dubbed a 'building block' system, it enables users to customize and expand their phone's protection.
The new cases allow users to freely combine the mid-frame and backplate according to their preferences, creating diverse appearances for the same case. Prices start at 139 yuan (approximately $19 USD) for standard models and 149 yuan (approximately $21 USD) for the RS special edition.
In addition to the cases, Huawei is offering separate, co-branded printed backplates starting at 59 yuan (approximately $8 USD). These include designs inspired by franchises like "Beach City Residents" and the game "Wuthering Waves," with some available in plush versions.
The system also features a section at the bottom for interchangeable functional accessories, such as a lint roller, a small storage box, a fragrance dispenser, a mirror, or a fill light. This modular approach emphasizes the potential for personalization and functional expansion of the smartphone.
