IT Home: Mijia launches rechargeable body fat scale
Mijia, IT Home's smart home brand, has introduced the Mijia Body Fat Scale 4 Pro, its first rechargeable body fat scale. The device is now available for crowdfunding in China at a price of 129 yuan.
IT Home reports that Mijia, IT Home's smart home brand, has launched the Mijia Body Fat Scale 4 Pro, its first body fat scale featuring a rechargeable battery. The device has begun crowdfunding on the Xiaomi Youpin platform for 129 yuan (approximately $18 USD). This marks Mijia's debut in rechargeable body fat scales.
The Mijia Body Fat Scale 4 Pro offers new features, including a body data trend display that allows users to compare current measurements with previous ones directly on the scale's surface. The device utilizes a Type-C charging port and houses a 450mAh battery, which is advertised to last up to 150 days on a single charge, based on three daily measurements, thereby eliminating the need for frequent battery replacements.
Constructed with a 300x300mm tempered glass surface coated with ITO, the scale replaces traditional electrode pads. This design ensures the entire surface acts as a measurement area, removing the need for precise foot placement. It employs dual-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to measure intracellular and extracellular fluid impedance, aiming for precise body data. The correlation of its fat measurements with the DEXA gold standard is reported to be over 0.93.
The scale supports a weight range of 0.1kg to 150kg and includes various measurement modes such as weighing small items, weighing with a baby, and heart rate detection. It can store health data for up to 36 family members, with support for body fat analysis for adolescents. The data integrates with both the Mijia App and Xiaomi Sports Health App, providing a comprehensive health overview.
