IT Home launches MuMu Emulator 6.0, integrating Android 15 kernel
IT Home has released version 6.0 of its MuMu Emulator, coinciding with the software's tenth anniversary. This major update introduces support for the Android 15 kernel, a notable advancement from previous versions that were limited to a single Android system.
The new 6.0 version allows users to switch between two kernel options: Android 12 and Android 15. The Android 12 kernel is recommended for older games and applications to ensure stability and prevent issues like crashes or lag. For newer, demanding titles developed on the latest Android foundations, users can switch to the Android 15 kernel to unlock higher frame rates and enhanced graphical rendering capabilities.
In terms of performance, MuMu Emulator 6.0 now supports frame rates up to 480 FPS with 4K ultra-high-definition graphics for smoother animations and effects. It also introduces a new OpenGL rendering mode, reportedly designed to mitigate black screen and stuttering issues on lower-spec devices. The existing Vulkan rendering mode has been further optimized, with claims of 300% improved multi-core rendering efficiency over DirectX, aiming to boost compatibility and fluidity for new game titles.
IT Home reports that MuMu Emulator 6.0 offers improved resource management. Tests indicate lower CPU and memory consumption compared to competing products, enabling stable multi-instance operation and extended use without crashes. The emulator is available for Windows and macOS, including Apple M-chip devices.
