IT Home, a China-based technology entity, has announced the open-sourcing of its GLM-5.3 AI model weights. The model is now available for download, supporting local execution and personalized customization. It is reportedly proficient in complex coding, defensive cybersecurity, and long-range tasks.
Li Zixuan, head of IT Home Z.ai, stated that the use of the model is governed by the GLM-5.3 license agreement. The model can be deployed locally, fine-tuned, and used for commercial purposes. Only organizations with an annual turnover exceeding $10 billion USD that intend to offer GLM-5.3 as an external model service are required to undergo a security review.
Given the model's advanced capabilities in cybersecurity, a comprehensive two-week security assessment was conducted prior to its public release. According to previously published data, GLM-5.3 achieved a score of 60 in the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (AA AI Index), placing it within the range of leading global models. It is positioned at a similar level to closed-source flagship models such as Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, and shares the top spot among open-source models with Kimi K3.
While achieving a comparable level of intelligence, GLM-5.3 lowers the barrier to using advanced AI capabilities through a smaller parameter scale and reduced operational costs. The model weights are accessible via Hugging Face.
